Policy Proposals

One of the drivers for creating this website was to create a platform for teachers to share ideas on how we can improve the various laws surrounding special education. After all, the policies that are created outside of the walls of our classrooms directly affect our work on the ground to advocate for and teach our students. As teachers, we are uniquely qualified to provide recommendations on how policies can support — instead of hinder — our relentless efforts to support each student reach his or potential. I will be exploring different policy issues such as weighted caseloads, funding models and innovative program models.

If you are interested in contributing or have feedback on policy issues to research, please do not hesitate to contact me!
